Mr Stuart Harbinson, Chair of the Agriculture negotiating committee in WTO, has produced a revision — dated 18 March — of his paper on 'modalities' for achieving liberalization of agricultural trade. The revision makes a number of changes to the paper released on 17 February, 2003.
This table allows you to make a comparison between the two version.
Inquit has produced a Guide to Reading WTO Schedules that includes information on the somewhat complex schedules of commitments in the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT): the agreement dealing with goods trade.
The schedules are sometimes neglected by all but WTO specialists. This is a shame. Because they are, in fact, the heart of the contract in the WTO. If you want to know what access obligations or export subsidy obligations a country has accepted, then it's essential to be able to correctly interpret the Schedule of Committments.
The Guide introduces you, gently, to these important documents.
